Autumn 2008 Dear friends and supporters, ConferencesLast week we finished the training of 200 leaders that where coming from different parts of Colombia. The seminar was a tremendous experience for all of them and I was given most of the teaching on principles and values and evangelism, this was from Mondays to Thursdays from 5-9 in evenings. Every week we have a group of 50 people and then other 50 and so on until we finished the 200 hundred, we also used drama to illustrate the teaching and the results were just amazing. Guillermo Giraldo the leader who organized all this training was very impressed by the quality of the teaching and the way we where presenting the Lord Jesus, away from any kind of religiosity, and he decided to bring another 200 people to be trained during the month of November, Guillermo is a very influenced man in the emerald market, he has been a business man for more than 30 years and he knows very well those who are involved in the emerald market. He said to me: “FARID we have more that 2.000 people including miners, business people and others who are involved in this market etc… that need to hear about the Lord, so expect more training in the coming months”. So the Lord is guiding us to a very interesting people, as you know Colombia has the most precious emeralds in the world, but behind that, there is also violence and dark market that needs the light of the Lord. One of the things that most impacted me during the training and evangelism was a lady who couldn’t write and read, her name was Rosa, and she came to me and said this: “I can’t write not even read, but I want to hear what you are saying to us, so can I take my daughter to take notes for me?”, so every night her daughter came with her and she took notes for her mom. At the end of the training we gave a certificated to all the participants and when Mrs. Rosa came at the front and every one applause her and all of us where very touch. Please pray for Guillermo as he will send the information around for the next training in November, also pray for our team especially for me, we all are very tired and we need to recharge our batteries in the next weeks to start again, we hope to start the 10th of November and finished the 5th of December. The familySusana was in the States during two months, she was there to practice more her English and practice for her TOEFL test to go into Oral Roberts University this coming spring. She came back to Colombia a week ago to present her TOEFL test and wait ORU acceptance letter. It was a great and blessed experience for her to be there, and be part of ORU community during two months. Please pray for her as she wait for her results of the test, and also for the finances for her first year, we all know God will provided. Carolina is in her school routine, in her last year and making all the preparation for her graduation next coming summer, and also getting ready to go to ORU fall 2009. So little by little we have experienced changes in our family, but trusting the Lord in every step we are taking. Rev. Clive WilliamsFor about twenty years Rev. Clive Williams was in charge of collecting all our support from England and send it to us in Colombia, we went together to Trinity College and he is a wonderful man of God, Clive soon will be retied and I would like to take this opportunity in this prayer letter to thank him for the job he was doing for us as a financial coordinator in the UK, I really want to express my gratitude to this faithful man of God and his family and the church of Highley that for many years support our work here in Colombia, Clive may the Lord continue blessed you and your wife Sue.
